Back to Detroit Once Again.

Leavin here pretty soon to go to Detroit. It's a long drive but totally worth it. I always take photos and never put them up. What a great city with a lot of amazing people. If you ever have a chance to go to Detroit, you should. You guys wanna party a little?

Dancing In Outer Space - Atmosfear

As classic as "classics" get. 1979 this came out on Elite Records. I guess Andy Sojka had something to do with the group Powerline as well since "Watching You" came out on a split 12" with 3rd Army also on Elite Records. I always liked this song and it continues to grow on me over time. Great synth work on this one!

Check out Powerline here:

Actress - Let's Fly

What a cool track from an amazing album. This guy harnessed the best sounds and strings them together in a very cool way. Amazing shit from Darren Cunningham.

Real Scenes: Detroit from Resident Advisor on Vimeo.

I've been sitting in front of my laptop all day. Short doc #2 from Resident Advisor about the scene in Detroit. I can't shake this cold and although it shouldn't turn into a the flu, I think some potato leek soup will be the perfect way to sit back and watch this again... sit back and relax...

TB-303 Documentary - Bassline Baseline (2005)

Nice doc on the 303 with some tidbits about Roland early on. Some things are left out and perhaps not exactly correct, but it's worth a watch. I'm sure it's not easy making a doc like this about 1 instrument. Check it out...

Sunny & The Sunglows - Talk To Me

Not much of a video per say, but maybe that way you actually listen to the music more! This is another group from San Antonio, TX that my dad turned me onto. I can see a drive in burger joint with all the cars coming and going in my mind. My dad was just a little kid when this came out in the year of 1963. This song is put together so well with short pauses, orchestra backing and a great vocal. I miss old doo wop and soul on the radio. Hopefully all these classics can stay just as they are... perfectly sealed in time.

Creme 12-55 Willie Burns - S/T EP

Creme 12-55 Willie Burns - S/T EP by cremeorganization

Great new record out on Creme from the Netherlands. B2 is especially super slick. Check it out.

DJ Deeon - Shake Dat Butt

Dj Deeon pays homage to Dopplereffekt here bridging Chicago & Detroit. An amazing track with the typical gum flappin we all love from Dance Mania.

Armand_Van_Helden - Break Da 80's

Another classic with one of the best Slick Rick samples I've ever heard. Insane samples flyin in from all over on this one. You'll easily recognize them all I'm sure. Classic house, house, house...house!

Houzmon - Omega - 1995

An old personal favorite. Apparently Dj Funk did not produce this (which is what I always thought), but was actually produce by Houzmon. Great 303 line boppin and poppin around here. Minimal acid house at it's best. One of the Dance Mania records that I'll always have...

Not really sure how I came across this, but I'm watchin this as soon as I get some time.

Yellow Power - Hai Samurai

Cool creeper production. Kinda just slithers along with some random voices thrown in there for pure fun. I guess this got re-issued, or so I've heard. Just got a copy last week in Brighton, UK. Cosmic.
